Barry left school at the age of 16 and enlisted into the armed forces. He was employed as an infantry man and specialized as a combat Patrol Team Medic. He has extensive experience working with many types of firearms and pyrotechnics as well as various equipment and vehicles.
Upon leaving the army Barry worked for a short time in Catering and Hospitality but then decided to follow a long held desire to work in the Performing Arts industry. At first he worked as a background actor on a number of TV shows but then progressed to playing roles in student Shorts. He performed two roles based around the BP Portrait exhibition at the Ulster Museum (June 2016.) These performances are produced and directed by BelfastTalent.com.
Barry regularly attends acting class's and workshops at the Belfast Crescent Arts Centre and has recently received a double distinction in Performing Arts Course at SERC. He has also attended a number of stage combat courses run by the Academy of Performance Combat.
Barry also has an interest in what goes on behind the camera and has taken a few short film production courses including a trainee AD course with NI Screen. He is currently enrolled on a level 3 Creative Media course at SERC.
In his spare time Barry enjoys archery and is a member of a living history re-enactment group that promotes the culture and lifestyle of around 500 B.C.E to 1500 C.E. Mainly focusing on the Viking age.
